Welcome! / First Post

Well hello there!

Welcome to Film School Cowboy. I'm gonna be using this bad boy to get my projects out there for you all to see. Maybe share some sweet experiences I get to have as I grow... All that kind of crazy stuff!

So lets get it started! Just completed my first project for class... Don't adjust your speakers... there is no sound. This one-minute short is meant to convey the feeling of a location without the help of sound or music... So let me know if I achieved that!

  1. Hi Ian, this is Patrick (the amazing one).

Me and my roomie just watched the vid. Excellent job!

We concluded that it would be a little more effective if each shot lasted longer (obviously, you'd have to remove some to stay at ~1:00). We think that the speed at which you change from scene to scene is a little jarring - and takes you a step away from the "peaceful" imagery that you were going for.

I can't wait to see more. This blog is gonna be SUPER exciting.

  2. I agree actually. They move a bit too fast for me as well, but I did need to include at least 20 different 'scenes' in it (I neglected to mention that in my intro... My bad!) so I was a little forced into that unfortunately.

  3. I see. Handcuffed by project requirements. That makes me more comfortable. In that case, you did absolutely as good as you can.

Your only other choice would be to pick a high-speed setting where the frequency of the scene changes would only enhance the atmosphere of the situation.

Assuming that's way too much work, I vote that you've done the job as good as any other human being could.
